Confession: Over a year ago I was building a ministry for survivors of religious abuse. One pastor got it in a way I never thought possible.
When I met with the other, he was stuck on controlling people who just needed safety. It confirmed what I’d been experiencing for a while: the church wasn’t going to see people like us. I haven’t stepped foot in one since.
