Confession: I once accidentally broke the news to a stranger that their friend just died.

We were in college. Faculty sent out an email. As I was reading it, a girl came into the lounge and I asked her if she had read what happened. She didn’t know what I was talking about. I read out the email…I’ll never forget her face. I knew I fucked up. She said “that’s my friend” and ran out in a panic.

If you ever read this: I’m sorry. I still think about you often.
