Day 345

Confession: I’m still a nanny and do Respite work from time to time. This year has felt a little different being around back-to-school.

I miss early elementary school. The festivities of the seasons. The library. The cold, dark days inside watching movies.

My teacher once planned for the class to watch Treasure Planet. My Mom didn’t agree to give permission, so I had to sit out. I know she didn’t mean harm, and she was just trying to protect our beliefs—which is admirable—but I still don’t really understand it.

And I still haven’t seen the movie.

I’m sure there’s some psychological reason behind that.
