Confession: The daily practice of this project has given me the skills I was missing to focus on and tackle the stories I’ve been setting aside.
Last night I finished the first draft of my sci-fi psychological thriller, which will be the first feature length script I’ve ever completed. I wrote it carefully in less than 2 months. I’m really proud of that. But the moment I typed the last word, I began to cry.
I need these stories as much as they need me.
There are moments I think this could be a monumental film—something important and original. And there are days I think I’m an absolute, stupid fraud.
It’s nice to know that’s normal. So I’ll keep creating and writing and picking things apart. Those actions alone are my revenge.
And even if it’s all a failure, I can make something out of that, too. (Thanks, Ed Wood)
